Maintenance Manager

Description

As a Maintenance Manager within the manufacturing sector, you will be responsible for the supervision of a team of maintenance engineers working on a continuous production line.

Some of the typical duties of a Maintenance Manager are to:

  • Manage the workload of and assign tasks to staff in the maintenance team
  • Plan and implement training and development plans for maintenance staff to ensure optimum operational performance
  • Use root cause analysis techniques to quickly identify the cause of downtime issues and work with the team to resolve them
  • Assist with capex projects when required and identify future site capex projects
  • Identify potential cost savings and drive cost efficiency programmes within the manufacturing and maintenance departments

Typical Rate

As a Maintenance Manager, you may typically expect to earn between £45,000 and £60,000 per year, depending on your level of experience and the size of the team you are responsible for.

Required Skills and Experience

To become a Maintenance Manager in a production facility, you will be required to have earned a relevant engineering (mechanical or electrical) or trade qualification with experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Other requirements you may need to meet are:

  • Ability to prove previous experience of successfully managing a team
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of maintenance and industry best practice
  • Experience of maintenance techniques e.g. TPM, PPM, CBM and RCM
  • Experience of using CMMS systems
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Good knowledge of all relevant HSE regulations
