Residential Conveyancer

Description

As a Residential Conveyancing Fee Earner, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of sale and purchase files from inception through to completion.

While your day to day duties may vary based on the nature of each case, the typical responsibilities of a Residential Conveyancer are to:

  • Manage all aspects of the conveyancing process including buying, selling, transfer of equity, remortgages, transfers, freehold and deeds of variations
  • Ensure the timely transfer of monies between the buyer, seller and 3rd parties
  • Liaise with clients, 3rd party solicitors, banks and building societies, estate agents, Land Registry etc. to ensure the smooth running of the process for all involved
  • Oversee the work of support staff
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients

Typical Rate

The salary for a Residential Conveyancer can vary based on your level of experience and the location in which you are based. However, you may typically expect to earn between £25,000 and £40,000 per annum.

Required Skills and Experience

To become a Residential Conveyancer, many employers will require you to have achieved the following:

  • Qualified as a Legal Executive, Solicitor or licensed Conveyancer with a minimum of 2 years PQE
  • Previous experience handing a residential conveyancing caseload
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build long lasting client relationships
  • Ability to demonstrate astute technical knowledge of a broad spectrum of residential property work
  • Previous experience using a case management system
