Description
As a PCB Test Engineer, you will be responsible for all aspects of the final inspection and testing of manufactured electromechanical products.
While the specific duties of a Test Engineer may vary depending on the nature of the organisation and the equipment they produce, some common duties of the role may be to:
- Determine methods and procedures for inspecting and testing PCB assemblies and finished products
- Undertake Factory Acceptance tests using standard workshop test equipment such as power supplies, digital multimeters and oscilloscopes
- Carry out fault finding and repairs of finished PCB assemblies to component level
- Rework printed circuit boards, including SMT devices
- Work to technical drawings and schematics
- Check all work meets quality and technical standards
- Keep accurate and up to date records of all faults found and repairs carried out
