UK construction industry set for growth in Q2

The construction industry is set for further growth in Q2, according to the latest Barbour ABI market review report.
The Construction Skills Certification Scheme has revealed it is making a number of changes to its CSCS cards, with workers seeking trainee, supervisory and managerial jobs the most likely to be affected.
The Government has been warned that any efforts to solve the housing crisis will fail unless steps are taken to tackle the construction sector’s skills shortage.
Workers have been urged to consider training for construction jobs after it was revealed that wages in the building trade climbed at a faster rate than in any other sector over the past year.
