The Renegades become the Steelers!!

We were delighted to hear the recent announcement from the Sheffield Steelers, that our very own Rotherham Renegades has become the Sheffield Steelers Ball Hockey Club!

This is fantastic news for the team we are proud to sponsor, who will now wear the same jerseys as the professional Ice Hockey club.

*The Renegades were formed in February 2014 and have gone on to enjoy immediate success capturing the Tier 2 National Title in Sheffield at the end of May. The club has grown in stature in such a short space of time and under the leadership of the Sheffield Steelers will aim to be a leading force in Ball Hockey in the UK. The ‘Renegade’ way has meant a lot to all who have pulled on the jersey, and they are just as excited to wear the orange of the Sheffield Steelers going forward.

The joint vision is to grow Ball Hockey and expand the brand of the Sheffield Steelers further in the region. The aim moving forward is to enter multiple Steelers Ball Hockey teams into tournaments and league competitions as well as introduce a junior system as Ball Hockey grows in the UK and the South Yorkshire area.

For those who haven’t experienced Ball Hockey, it’s a team sport and a variation of the sport of Ice Hockey, which is similar to street hockey, played all over the United States and Canada. Advantages of Ball Hockey are that it is easily accessible due to the minimal equipment required, such as a helmet, stick and gloves.

The new Sheffield Steelers Ball Hockey Club is proud to continue to carry Kalcrest’s name and thanks them, and all sponsors, for their continued support.
